Powerlifting and strength coaching is suited for those looking to get stronger, improve their physique, learn or refine their lifting technique, begin powerlifting or want to increase their previous best PB’s or total. We have a variety of powerlifting coaching options from face-to-face, small group and online coaching. Powerlifting coaching consists of training and nutrition programming tailored to an individual’s goals and training experience. At SPC Performance Lab, we welcome beginners with no experience to competition powerlifters.

Semi-private powerlifting coaching is suitable for individuals looking for group personal training. The group powerlifting package comes with the same inclusions as one-on-one training.
The semi-private coaching includes:
$70 per week not, including gym membership $80 per week, including gym membership *Training programs and nutrition updates are included in the weekly cost. *No contract and cancel anytime *This is NOT a one size fits all session where everyone does the same thing. Training and technique cues need to be individualised to each person to maximise progression.
Online powerlifting coaching is perfect for those that live far away or don’t require face-to-face sessions. Online coaching is best suited for those with some powerlifting experience and who have a basic idea of how to perform main barbell lifts.
Online coaching includes:
$75 per week not, including gym membership
$85 per week, including gym membership

Powerlifting technique coaching is a one-off session for those that are looking to refine their main barbell lifts. The technique session can help identify errors and movement inefficiencies in your technique, which may be limiting the amount of weight you are lifting.
The technique coaching includes:

Coaching is performed with Paul Attard who is a qualified exercise scientist, strength and conditioning coach and competitive powerlifter. Paul uses an evidence-based coaching approach, continuously educates himself via university courses, and keeps updated with exercise science literature.
Powerlifting coaching ranges from $70 to $105 per week, depending on the coaching option that you select. At SPC Performance Lab, we offer face-to-face powerlifting coaching sessions and online coaching. All our powerlifting coaching options are contract-free, meaning you can cancel at any time.

No, our coaching services are available to anyone from or outside of SPC Performance Lab. However, if you are interested in online coaching, you can receive a discounted gym membership as part of your weekly coaching.
Yes, for those who are looking to compete, meet prep (warm-ups and attempts) are included in your weekly coaching at no extra cost. In certain cases, your coach may be able to physically come to your competition depending on the distance and schedule. Competitions are also hosted at SPC Performance Lab, meaning that your coach will be here to help you in most cases.
No, our coaching can be tailored for a range of goals including building muscle, reducing body fat, improving strength and sports performance. You won’t need to be interested in powerlifting to be coached. The head coach is a qualified exercise scientist with over 8 years of experience in coaching individuals with different goals.
All coaching packages (excluding one-off technique sessions) come with an individualised training program and nutrition recommendation that is reviewed and updated weekly. All programs are included in the coaching costs with no extra costs to pay.
Increasing strength and improving exercise techniques can help reduce some of the pain that you may be experiencing. Avoiding particular exercises may also contribute to further long-term pain. Your training program can be modified and adapted based on your pre-existing injuries.
There is no minimum age requirement for powerlifting coaching. If you are underage, talk to our head trainer for more information.
